I was recently talking with a co-worker who had technical/composition questions about the Orchestral Project and he asked if I would be doing another orchestral album any time soon. I basically told him “Absolutely not in the foreseeable future. I think I am orchestra’d out.” I explained that when I began the Orchestral Project it was to challenge myself to learn something that I’ve always wanted to do while seeing if I could actually do it. As for as making orchestral composition my main thing? Nope, not gonna happen. Perhaps at some point, a long, long way down the road I might want to do maybe one song. Then maybe I will, but an album’s worth? Not likely.
I have been having a great time working on the new world fusion/ethereal album. Actually, it doesn’t feel like I’m “working” on an album at all and I think that’s one of my favorite things about it. It’s nice to have fun with my music, it’s like I’m in my element again.
